CAUTION : Adventure game only available in french !
Last title developed by Bruno FONTERS in his series of adventure games initiated with L'ÎLE OUBLIÉE, L'AFFAIRE RAVENHOOD
slips you into the skin of Jerome Lange, hero of MORTVILLE MANOR.
And if it is a nice tribute, it's also a huge responsibility.
However, the interface has been improved compared to LES GRIFFES DE LA NUIT and the content is more consistent. The
graphics in 4 colors are classical but once again superb. The scenario provides an interesting phase of investigation
with stakeholders before embarking on a thorough search of the mansion. There is no speech that made the success of its
model, and story is predictable. It introduces many
unnecessary elements, time management is haphazard and spelling is to be improved again. But this new adventure is
pleasing and we can only congratulate Bruno FONTERS for the quality of its three games.

CAUTION : Adventure game only available in french !
Looking for your brother missing at sea, your own ship sank during a violent storm. You wake up on a beach and quickly
discover that you shipwrecked on a desert island. Your goal now is to explore the island in search of a way to escape.
Graphical adventure game in which you have to type your orders, developed just after the death of the CPC, L'ÎLE OUBLIÉE
is a tribute to the games created by the Lankhor company that the developer seems to love enough to maliciously use the
credit page design. And the disciple is nearing exceed the master. Indeed, if we ignore some minor inconsistencies, lack
of shortcuts sometimes annoying and a failing spelling, mature and well-crafted storyline as well as sumptuous and varied
graphics rapidly immerse the player in a very exotic adventure, precisely Lankhor specialty. This title offers almost the
quality of a commercial production and if playing an adventure game in French does not scare you, we clearly advise you
to discover it now.

J.T. Gamber is a former member of Special Forces and he wants to resolve his crime problem in the old tradition. A big gun in
hand, you will walk the streets of his district, shooting villains at every turn in an action game which alternates run'n
gun levels and target shooting stages.
The graphics are decent if not outstanding with small sized sprites that are disappointing. The music, however, is the real
highlight of the game. The McKlain's compositions sounds true with nice melodies. Three levels of increasing difficulty and
two bonus stages, it is short but enough to enjoy the adventures of the discount vigilante. Actually, the real problem is
that there is nothing new and that we must again suffer this primitive gameplay, sometimes confusing, we had already
experienced in other ESP Soft titles as HORA BRUJA or IMAGINARIO COLECTIVO.
With the sole objective to slay baddies and
skirt obstacles in linear levels, this time the result is not really conclusive. We hope that GG's next production will be
more ambitious and provide a challenge to the height of the known capacities of the CPC nowadays.

LALA THE MAGICAL PROLOGUE
|
2010
|
|
|
|
Second title from the Mojon Twins using their engine named "The churrera", LALA PROLOGUE capitalize on the idea of
the quest for items which SIR ABABOL had already used. you are Lala, a clumsy
witch apprentice who scattered to the four corners of the school her mistress potions.
Of course, do not expect big surprises. You have to collect 25 vials while retrieving keys that enable to progress in
a cemetery and churches invaded by monsters. Once again, the music is nice but quickly horrifying and graphics are
very cute in mode 1, using colors reminiscent of a pumpkin which perfectly suits the atmosphere of witchcraft. What
is surprising is the increased rigidity of the character and the level design frustrating when you arrive on a screen
and come face to face with a monster. You will need to be cool as ice and chase energy lollipops to expect out of
trouble the poor Lala. The DSK proposed here includes a patch written by Syx and added by TotO allowing the use of a
joystick to play. Thank you guys!

CAUTION : Adventure game only available in french !
LE CRIME DU PARKING is a graphical adventure game in which you have to type your orders using the keyboard, a very common
kind of game in the 80s. So you have to solve the murder of Odile Conchoux, a modest supermarket seller found dead. Search
in every corner and interview the residents, all suspects.
Adventure game specialist on the Apple II, Froggy Software creates and edits this title in 1985. Tom&Jerry from GPA offers us
this faithful adaptation on CPC... and the graphics from the Apple II sting the eyes a little. Few exclusive digits, music
and splashscreen raise the achievement. As often with this kind of game, we should not be too demanding with the script,
simple and agreed. However, the puzzles are quite logical and it is fun to solve this case. If you're not disturbed by a
playability from another age, this title is a breath of fresh air that reminds us, despite its mature theme, the innocence
of video games in the 80s.

LE MUR DE BERLIN VA SAUTER

CAUTION : Adventure game only available in french !
Tom&Jerry offers us to discover a second title from Froggy Software. And this time we are plunged into the Cold War. As
first-class spy, you have to identify a heinous terrorist and put him out of harm's way before it gets to blow the Berlin
Wall with a bomb, which plunge the world into a new world war.
Of course, the game uses the traditional interface that invites you to type your orders using the keyboard. Musics,
beautiful presentation screen and enhanced graphics allow you to enjoy the CPC capacities. It is rather the story that
disappoints. The vocabulary used is sometimes obscure and puzzles may be difficult to understand. You must be fond of
this kind of game to understand its logic. Fortunately, there are several solutions to solve certain puzzles. Finally,
it works less than LE CRIME DU PARKING despite of a captivating theme. A title for the real lovers of this kind of game.

LES GRIFFES DE LA NUIT

CAUTION : Adventure game only available in french !
You have been contacted by an old scientist friend who wants to show you the result of his experiences. So you
join in its cottage isolated in the Pyrenees. But yout stay won't turn out at all the way you thought it would.
This second game developed by Bruno FONTERS contrasts with L'ÎLE OUBLIÉE. It's a thriller and the action takes
place nowadays, using a "point'n click" interface that looks great. Unfortunately, if the context of the island
of paradise inspired the author, he seems less comfortable here with a really lame story. The title of the game
itself lets augur of the better scenes of the great horror films of the 80s but the bubble burst quickly.
Interactive objects are not necessarily visible and we often come across them by chance. As for the ending ...
it can be perplexing. However graphics, superb but few, are a good motivation to discover LES GRIFFES DE LA NUIT,
"Night Claws" in English, an adventure that takes place in broad daylight.

Do you know HENRY ? HENRY is an electronic game developed by Tiger. The device consists of 25 tiles that can be lit. The
player have to turn off all the lights in the fewest moves. By selecting a tile that is on or off, it changes state and
adjacent tiles change state too. LIGHTS OUT invites you to discover this clever puzzle game on your CPC.
Here is another production signed by Rudiger that shines in its simplicity and effectiveness. It must be said that the
principle of the game is particularly addictive. As usual coded in BASIC, the skin is rudimentary but the essential is there
with a nice music and a colorful graphic in 16 colors. A counter indicates the minimum number of moves to successfully
turn off the lights, and the presence of an option to train on the different levels is really appreciable. If the help
key available during the first 25 levels is an interesting lifeline, its absence adds
more challenge next. A puzzle game that will please most fans of puzzles with a high difficulty level. The game is all in
french but don't be afraid, with the instruction leaflet included with the cover, you won't have any problem to play.

Some games have that little thing that make them immediately nice and addictive without the need to flaunt big visual
effects and sounds. You load it without much conviction, you begin the game to quickly kill two minutes and bam ... one
hour has passed when ou raise the head from the screen! You understand that LOGICAL HEAD in one of those. We take
pleasure to wander the little creature who stumbles over every obstacle to pick up all the hearts without getting out
of moves!
Technically, this is not really impressive. We are greeted by a nice colored screen and very nice music ! But then the
Mode1 with 4 colors arrives and the game takes a "ascii-touch" that may deter. But the difficulty is well proportioned,
so it is a real pleasure to play and with the 30 levels ensure a good life. So if you add the presence of an editor to
create your own levels, LOGICAL HEAD is definitely a must that any puzzle game "addict" must try. The game is all in
french but don't be afraid, with the instruction leaflet included with the cover, you won't have any problem to play.
